Working on Dogs in Disguise

It’s been a long time since I have posted on the blog.

The pandemic changed a lot in my life, something I am sure everyone can relate to. In the middle of scrambling to find a new way to work reliably via the internet, my computer died and I had to get a new one. I’m figuring out the new system and I think I’m finally comfortable with it. But I have been working on drawings and paintings, so now I can show some of it off.

Here’s a preview of some of the basic studies for the coloring book. I am making 2 versions of each dog, one with costume and one without.

I Have a Blog Now!

Blog Post 6/6/19

Hello everyone, and thank you for clicking on my page and reading my first ever blog post about my art and illustration career. My name is Hannah and I am an illustrator living in the Portland, OR area. I work in ink and watercolor. I started off my professional art career specializing in watercolor pet portraits, which I enjoy doing, but weren’t really fulfilling my creative needs on their own. Now I am working on projects in a more graphic style, combining ink drawing with painting. Thanks for being a part of this journey with me.

Throughout this blog, which you can read on my website and I will no doubt be posting all over social media as well, I will be covering past, current and future projects including my coloring book and upcoming coloring books, posters, and fine art watercolor. I am hoping to work on children’s books and band art in the future, and some day I hope to work on some comic books geared towards adults.

Eventually I will also be posting educational materials, tutorials and project walk-throughs for anyone out there who just wants to know what professional illustrators actually do and how we do it. I will be happy to answer questions if you have them, just send me an email. I used to teach high school art and I kind of miss it, so I’m looking forward to giving back to the art community by offering free advice and lessons (although if you want to get more in-depth, there will be paid lessons available soon as well, so stay tuned for that).

I also want to use this blog outlet to talk about art and the Portland illustration community, and I’m hoping I can shoutout to some of my fellow artists in the area to help them get more exposure.

If you’re here because you’re one of my friends, thank you so much for supporting me by just clicking through to this page. Even something as seemingly insignificant as paying attention to what friends are doing online can help create more online visibility, so thank you!

And of course, if you stick around, you will get all the inside info on my merch and how to order it, because I know you’re probably just looking for a Punker Sphynx tank top (coming soon) and Ninja Octopus posters.

Have a good day everybody! Thanks again for reading and remember: Be excellent to each other!
